Our tour on the prosecco wine route begins in Conegliano. Stroll under the arcades of the old Contrada Granda and admire the sequence of ancient houses, the splendid cathedral with its frescoed facade and the fresco at Hotel Canon d’Oro, that was formerly a pawnshop belonging to a religious brotherhood. Conegliano’s castle dominates the city from the top of the hill.

It is precisely by the castle, today the city’s history museum, that the wine route begins.
Our restaurant tips along the route will make your trip even more likable.

The road winds gently on the hill crest and takes to San Pietro di Feletto where you should not miss the charming 12th-century parish church, in exquisite Romanesque style.

The next stretch of the route leads to Refrontolo (1) winding through scenic hilly landscape. A short detour takes you to enchanting Molinetto della Croda, an old mill nestled in rocks with its waterfall aside. Do not miss it!

After a short break continue your trip to Rolle (2) but before reaching this little enchanting village, across panoramic views and endless vineyard landscapes, we suggest a stop at winery Vigne Matte (8) for wine tasting.

From here, follow indications to Cison di Valmarino, a beautiful small town overlooked by its imposing castle, and then reach Follina (3-4) with its enchanting abbey whose foundation dates back to the 13th century.

Keep driving with direction Miane (5) and Combai where you enjoy a largely intact landscape, patterned with rounded hills, poetically called "snails", dotted with old sheds that are still used to store hay and tools.

From Combai the wine road heads north through the vineyards to reach the clou par excellence in this region, the Cartizze area, which produces the very best of all prosecco varieties. Here you get some of the loveliest views of the Prosecco hills, where vineyards climb steeply onto the mountain until they leave room to vast chestnut woods (local chestnuts are much appreciated here).

Drive on towards Valdobbiadene (6). The route ends in the city’s main square, surrounded by neoclassical style buildings and by the iconic 18th-century bell tower.

The way back to Conegliano could be done through Vidor, Col San Martino, Farra di Soligo, Solighetto, Refrontolo, Conegliano.

We have guided tours of the Prosecco Route by car or minivan, led by local English-speaking guides. See more here.
